Purpose Trieste Contemporanea introduces the Young Art Critic Award to spotlight contemporary art criticism. This initiative invites young curators to present at the 11th CEI Venice Forum.
Eligibility Are you a passionate contemporary art curator under 35 from Central Eastern Europe? Seize the chance to speak at the upcoming CEI Venice Forum during the Venice Biennale’s exciting pre-opening days. Submit your insightful art exhibition review by March 24, 2024!
Submission Details Share your review of the most significant contemporary art exhibition you’ve experienced between February 2022 and February 2024. Your review should explain why you found the exhibition impactful, anywhere in the world.
Forum Participation An international jury will select three outstanding curators to speak at the 11th CEI Venice Forum in Venice. This is a chance to engage with an international audience and network with professionals. Trieste Contemporanea will cover travel and accommodation. Your submitted text will serve as your presentation in English, lasting 15 minutes.
Event Information The 11th CEI Forum will occur on April 19 at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts. Attend in person or watch the online stream. The Forum is supported by several prestigious organizations and offers public attendance.
Award and Publication Forum attendees will vote for the top presentation, granting the winner the Young Art Critic Award. Additionally, the three finalists will have the chance to publish a piece in Juliet Art Magazine, focusing on an artist, exhibition, or art institution from their country.
How to Apply Submit your 8000-character max review in English by March 24, 2024, to info@triestecontemporanea.it. Include a title, detailed exhibition information, images with captions if possible, and your contact information along with a brief bio, including your birthplace, date, and citizenship. Your review should not only assess the exhibited works but also delve into the exhibition’s curatorial concept, highlighting its originality and relevance to contemporary art discussions.
