An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Tate Britain curatorial team as Assistant Curator, British Art. This role sits with the Historic British Art team (covering 1500s to c.1915) but has a flexible remit to work across Modern and Contemporary projects, as required. You will assist and support curators to deliver exhibitions and collection displays; to research the historic collection, potential acquisitions and to write texts for Tate’s website.
We are looking for a well-organised team-player with curatorial and exhibitions experience. You will be keen to share your demonstrable knowledge of British art and its many contexts (social, cultural, political, economic, and international) and possess particular knowledge of the eighteenth century. You will bring a sensitive and well-informed perspective on issues of equality and diversity in relation to the research and presentation of British art and be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
You will undertake the role in alignment with Tate’s priorities, including those concerning our audiences, our environmental impact, and our staff values (to be open, bold, rigorous and kind).
Our jobs are like our galleries, open to all
