Delfina Foundation, in partnership with Kunsthalle Praha, Czech Centre and the Arts and Theatre Institute, is delighted to announce a residency open call for curators living and working in Czech Republic (including both citizens and those with a long-term residency permit).
The three-week residency will run from 20 June – 10 July 2022, during Delfina Foundation’s Summer season.

Delfina Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to facilitating artistic exchange and developing creative practice through residencies, partnerships and public programming. Each year, Delfina Foundation runs four three-month residency programmes: winter, spring, summer and autumn. These residency seasons are assigned either as ‘open’ (dedicated independent research) or ‘thematic’ (focusing on a specific issue or idea). This residency will take place during our ‘open’ summer 2022 season.
Alongside gaining time and space to develop their work, Delfina Foundation’s residents participate in a bespoke programme that includes:
— Guided visits to museums, galleries, non-profits, artist- run spaces and studios, as well as trips to institutions outside London.
— Opportunities to meet and engage with artists, curators, academics and researchers through organised presentations, studio visits, events and meals.
— Professional development activities including: presentations and crits, portfolio reviews, and mentoring activities.

THE SELECTED APPLICANT WILL RECEIVE:
A three-week residency at Delfina Foundation, including:
— A return economy-class flight
— Airport transfers
— Reimbursement of visa fee
— A living allowance of £30 per day
— A materials budget of up to £200
— Local travel allowance
— A single bedroom at Delfina Foundation – a house which hosts up to 8 residents with shared facilities, including: bathrooms, laundry rooms, a kitchen, library and dining room
— Opportunities to engage in the art scene in UK through structured activities and independent time
— A programme of planned group activities
REQUIREMENTS:
— The Recipient must be a curator currently living and working in the Czech Republic (either as a citizen or as non-citizen with a long-term residence permit)
— Seeking an opportunity to develop their practice and the concepts of their curatorial practice through research;
— Able to explain how the experience of an international residency may benefit their career development and local networks;
— Proficient in English.

2. Documentation: either a portfolio or weblinks Portfolio
— One PDF file with all images and texts
— Images must include captions or short descriptions of the work
— There are no maximum number of images that will be accepted, but applicants are advised to only submit relevant images to reduce the size of email submissions to 4MB.
— For videos/films, please provide links in the application form. Do not send as attachments.
— In your portfolio, please feel free to include any relevant text on your work such as a curatorial essay, press, etc.
— Please name this document in the following format, substituting your own name: LastName_FirstName_Portfolio.pdf
Weblinks
— As an alternative to a portfolio, Delfina Foundation are happy to refer to the applicant’s website.
— The website must, however, have clear descriptive information about previous projects with captions and texts. If your website is not straightforward or up-to-date, please submit a portfolio instead.
— Please list all weblinks in section 5 of the application form.
3. A CV/resume
— If your CV is not part of your portfolio, please send it separately.
— Your CV should detail recent projects, exhibitions, workshops and residencies.

APPLICATION TIMELINE:

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview in the commencing 24 January 2022.
Applicants will be notified of the panel’s decision by 4 February 2022.
