Full Time Permanent Contract
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Head of Exhibitions and Collection Care from either an Exhibitions or Collections Management background, to lead the Exhibitions team and the Conservation and Collections Care team.
The Head of Exhibitions and Collection Care will be responsible for all aspects of managing and delivering the programme of temporary exhibitions and displays. The role is also responsible for leading, establishing, implementing and maintaining the highest standards of best practice for conservation, documentation, Collection Care and Collections Management procedures in all areas across the Collection. The role also manages the loans out programme from the Collection.
Leading the Exhibition and Displays and Collection Care departments you will provide strategic vision as well as practical and hands-on co-ordination.
You will need to have a flexible, pragmatic approach to work, be a keen problem solver, and be proactive and confident working with colleagues across all levels of the institution. You will have excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, build and manage specialist teams, along with freelancers and resources, and prioritize correctly and in line with the wider goals of the Wallace Collection.
You will need a commitment to driving change and ensuring continued improvement as the post holder will be required to shape this new role as the position and department develops.
