Exhibitions Manager (National Touring) – Maternity Cover
The Exhibitions Manager (National Touring) post is responsible for the organisational management and delivery of specific national touring projects within the gallery’s exhibition programme.
JOB PURPOSE
To organise and deliver multiple complex touring exhibitions within the exhibition programme concurrently, including overall project and loan management from the start of a national tour to the return of works to the NG at the end of a tour
Be the key point of contact for specific projects, liaising with a wide range of partners and internal and external colleagues including museums, galleries, arts organisations, curators, designers, transport agents, ACE and funding bodies.
Effectively manage exhibition tours from start to finish including all contractual negotiations, exhibition budgets and risks associated with each project; schedule and manage the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions in liaison with tour partners.
Organise collaborative meetings with touring partners to discuss and share key activities and outcomes, including forging and maintaining key relationships.
SCOPE OF JOB
- Manage projects from inception, deinstallation and evaluation with our partners ensuring delivery to milestones and deadlines
- Manage and monitor loan and contract negotiations, insurance and transport arrangements, design and interpretation processes, in line with risk management and best practice
- Manage finance & procurement for project budgets including expenditure, forecasting, reporting and cost reconciliations and tendering in line with the Gallery’s framework
- Work collaboratively with partners and ensure that each location is delivering to the agreed schedule, outcomes and budgets
- Supervise Exhibitions Assistants assigned to each project
- Maintain collegiate and positive internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Management of accurate documentation and reporting
