Hours of work: Full time, 10am-6pm Monday to Friday, occasional evenings and weekends, with TOIL for time worked at weekends and bank holidays
Salary: £36,000
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
Raven Row, an internationally recognised contemporary art exhibition space (with charity status) in Spitalfields, London, is preparing to resume its programme from January 2023.
It is seeking a Communications Coordinator to work alongside the Communications and Publications Manager on the description and promotion of Raven Row’s exhibition programme. The Communications Coordinator will assist with Raven Row’s audience development, principally through social media, and help coordinate its occasional events.
As Raven Row is a small organisation, additional duties beyond those listed below may occasionally be required.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Communications and Publications Manager, the Communications Coordinator will:
- Produce engaging content for the gallery’s website and social media
- Use social media and digital platforms to develop audiences
- Maintain a relevant and well archived website
- Distribute and refresh all exhibition listings information
- Respond to general enquiries on behalf of the Director and Gallery
- Respond to press enquiries
- Coordinate Raven Row’s occasional events
- Assist in producing signage and printed material for exhibitions
- Liaise with galleries, curators, artists and event speakers for permission to use images in print and online (i.e. picture research)
- Maintain an email database
- Maintain an archive of Raven Row’s exhibitions, for press, artists, online etc.
Person specification:
The ideal candidate will be someone who:
- Enjoys thinking about contemporary art and is able to communicate about it to diverse audiences with clarity
- Has experience managing or contributing to social media accounts, preferably for arts institutions
- Is a skilled and confident proof-reader with close attention to detail
- Has some experience working in fields relating to communication and/or publishing about contemporary art
- Can demonstrate a strong visual awareness, preferably with some experience of working closely with designers
- Is highly organised, and can demonstrate experience of working to tight deadlines
- Works well within a small, collaborative team
