Join Our Team as a Project Coordinator We are currently in search of a part-time Project Coordinator to contribute to Para Site’s on-site and traveling exhibitions, public programs, special events, and publications.
Responsibilities
- Artist Liaison and Coordination
- Engage with artists, gather and organize artwork details for curatorial and communication purposes.
- Provide support in on-site artwork assembly, particularly for commissioned pieces.
- Source necessary materials and equipment for artwork creation.
- Communication and Logistics
- Collaborate with Project Manager and art handlers.
- Compile material and equipment spreadsheets for installation and dismantling.
- Conduct site inspections to optimize spatial utilization and gather venue specifications.
- Prepare basic floor plans and documentation photos.
- Gallery Maintenance and Support
- Maintain gallery setup instructions and assist throughout exhibitions.
- Address incidents and report to the relevant personnel.
- Assist in coordinating public programs, including video recording and equipment preparation.
- Guide and supervise new interns, overseeing tasks like artwork handling.
- Inventory Management
- Manage installation tools, materials, and equipment inventory.
- Regularly replenish disposable materials.
- Ensure gallery operation and front desk duties on designated days.
Qualifications
- Four-year university degree in related fields, e.g., fine art, art history, culture management, or architecture.
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese preferred, Mandarin a bonus).
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, Google Suite, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays when required.
