Job Overview
As the Membership Manager at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), you will be a key member of the Development team. Your role involves developing and executing a dynamic Membership strategy, with the aim of relaunching the program this year. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all Membership-related inquiries, offering support to visitors and Members for online and phone ticket bookings while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Membership Strategy
- Collaborate with the Head of Development to devise and implement Membership sales strategies, focusing on Member acquisition and retention targets.
- Ensure effective representation and promotion of Membership across all ICA departments, programs, and commercial activities.
Member Engagement
- Nurture and engage Members through regular communication campaigns, events, promotions, and exclusive benefits.
- Organize monthly ‘Mondays for Members’ cultivation and stewardship events.
- Process new and existing Memberships through various payment systems, adhering to data protection policies.
Financial Administration
- Prepare monthly reports on revenue, retention, churn, and acquisition trends.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to compile an annual Profit & Loss Statement for Membership.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing Member inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Train and collaborate with Front of House Teams to upsell Memberships and assist with Member queries.
- Liaise with the ICA Bookstore and ICA Artists’ Editions Teams regarding Membership benefits.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

- Ability to work well under pressure and independently problem-solve.
- Proficiency in IT, including Office packages.
- Experience with membership or subscription schemes, preferably in the arts.
- Innovative thinking to drive engagement and maximize opportunities.
- Proficiency in financial administration and various payment systems.
- Record of working with CRM databases and analytics.
- Knowledge of the ICA and enthusiasm for its programs.
- Experience with Spektrix database (desirable).
