Position Summary
InterAccess seeks an Administrative & Events Associate to support the Terra Firma (TF) project, which fosters technologically mediated relationships between arts organizations and Black, Indigenous, and Disability Justice (BIDJ)-centered communities. The role involves project coordination, emphasizing accessibility and community capacity-building within these communities.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Logistical Support
- Facilitate administrative and logistical aspects of project deliverables, including consultation phases, training series, online conferences, resource packages, research reports, and community roundtable series.
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, virtual platform setup, participant communication, and accessibility accommodations.
- Create and distribute accessible materials for events and project resources, adhering to accessibility standards.
- Align administrative processes with equity and accessibility goals, seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Manage communication with stakeholders, participants, and community members.
- Collect, document, and archive project-related materials.
Quality Assurance
- Review event materials to ensure accessibility and quality standards are met.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate on project improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Passion for equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of accessibility considerations in event planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in virtual event platforms, administrative tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and prioritize inclusivity.
- Previous experience in event coordination, administrative support, or accessibility-focused roles is advantageous.
Assets (Optional)
- Interest and/or experience in disability justice.
- Professional and/or lived experience with anti-oppression frameworks.
Working Conditions
- Fully remote position, working according to Eastern Time when necessary.
- Reliable internet access and necessary hardware/software for remote work.
- Time off in lieu for excess hours worked.
