About the Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and creative Communications & Development Coordinator with strong written and verbal communication skills to support the effective delivery of UP Projects’ digital marketing, project promotion, fundraising, and partnerships.
Marketing
- Manage and monitor UP Projects’ social media platforms, ensuring a steady stream of content, including drafting and scheduling regular posts.
- Devise marketing strategies and social media campaigns related to UP Projects’ program.
- Coordinate UP Projects’ “Keep the Fires Burning” initiative, sharing antiracist resources monthly.
- Coordinate UP Projects’ monthly newsletter.
- Create marketing support kits for specific projects.
- Work with Project Leads and Directors to draft key messages and implement marketing strategies for all projects.
- Keep UP Projects’ website up-to-date and reflective of the program, leading website updates.
Audience Development
- Research relevant target audiences to inform program promotion.
- Build and maintain relationships with external marketing officers for cross-promotion.
- Collaborate with external partners to cross-promote projects effectively.
- Assist in maintaining UP Projects’ audience development plan.
- Set up and manage Eventbrite/booking systems for UP Projects’ events.
Press
- Support Executive Director & Head of Partnerships in working with freelance or external PRs or PR agencies as needed.
- Assemble press image selections and press releases for relevant projects.
- Cultivate press and media contacts, working closely with the Directors.
- Research relevant publications and journalists interested in UP Projects’ work.
- Prepare pitch emails for specific projects and create bespoke press lists when needed.
Development
- Assist the Directors with research for new partnership projects and funding opportunities.
- Support the preparation of proposals, tenders, and fundraising applications.
- Prepare and present presentations to new partners.
- Coordinate administrative tasks related to patrons and donations, working closely with the Founder & Artistic Director and Senior Curator.
Other Duties
- Maintain UP Projects’ content management system, Beacon, with new contacts and coordinate target press and guest lists.
- Coordinate UP Projects’ social events, including team and board activities.
- Assist with Board of Trustee administration, including scheduling meetings and appointment/resignation administration.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by your line manager.
Requirements

- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong team player.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, including Office packages.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Desired Experience (Not Essential)
- Knowledge of fundraising and development, including proposal and tender writing.
- Familiarity with InDesign, Adobe packages, Mailchimp, Canva, and Hootesuite.
- Experience with content management systems and website updates.
- Familiarity with maintaining mailing lists or Customer Relationship Management systems.

Terms
- Line Management: Report to UP Projects’ Executive Director & Head of Partnerships, and in her absence, the Founder & Artistic Director.
- Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 depending on experience.
- Contract: Permanent.
- Hours: Full time, flexible working options available.
- Holidays: 25 days per annum plus an additional day on your Birthday.
- Probationary period: Six months.
- Notice period: Two months.
- Location: Shared office space and remote work options.
