About Afrique Créative
Afrique Créative Acceleration Program is designed for companies in the African cultural and creative industries. The program provides access to grants ranging from €30,000 to €60,000 and offers comprehensive business and creative assistance for accelerating your project.
Program Objectives
Our primary objectives include strengthening entrepreneurs’ capabilities, assisting in their scaling efforts, and preparing them for future fundraising.
Program Coverage
Afrique Créative covers all costs during the program, including participation in at least one in-person boot camp, covering travel and accommodation expenses.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Afrique Créative, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Industry Focus: Active in cultural and creative sectors, such as design, audiovisual or musical production, and performing arts.
- Legal Entity: Must be a private legal entity, such as a company or an association.
- Geographical Presence: Based in one of the following 12 countries: South Africa, Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, or Tunisia.
- Established Duration: In existence for a minimum of two years.
- Legal Registration: Legally registered with competent national authorities and having legal status with a governance body, such as a board of directors or management committee.
- Complete Application: Submission of an application file with all requested documents, either in French or English.
Creative Africa Program’s Goal
The Creative Africa Program aims to support the emergence of cultural and creative industries (CCI) in Africa, creating jobs, fostering economic growth, and driving positive change.
Target Audience
Our program is tailored to cultural and creative businesses.
Target Countries
We extend our support to businesses in South Africa, Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, and Tunisia.
Pre-Incubation Selection
At least two entrepreneurs per country will be selected for the pre-incubation phase.
Application Deadline
The application deadline is November 15, 2023.
Candidate Selection Process
Candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process, including the following steps:
- Eligibility Check: Only complete applications that meet the eligibility criteria will proceed to the next stage.
- Ratings by National Juries: Applications will be evaluated by national juries consisting of a representative from the local partner incubator, a representative from France’s external cultural action (AFD, French Institute, SCAC), and a partner involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
- Pre-Selection: Based on the evaluations of the national juries, a central committee chaired by the AFD will choose the 30 entrepreneurs for the pre-incubation phase.
- Final Selection: At the end of the pre-incubation period, entrepreneurs will present their businesses to a jury comprising cultural, institutional players, and investors, who will select the top 15 projects with the greatest creative and economic potential.
- Winners Announcement: In April 2024, we will announce the 15 entrepreneurs joining the incubation program, receiving technical support and subsidies for their projects.
