Role Overview
Book Works is hiring an experienced editor to collaborate with the publishing team on artists’ book commissions. The role involves assisting the Director in commissioning new publications, managing the editorial and production process, and working closely with artists and writers on experimental projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director on commissioning new publications and projects.
- Manage the editorial and production process, including close reading, developmental edits, copyediting, proofreading, fact-checking, and image permissions.
- Work with graphic designers and printers for book production and printing.
- Demonstrate experience in similar texts or publications and a keen interest in contemporary art, print culture, and artists’ publishing.
