About W139: W139 is an innovative exhibition venue collaborating with artists on new presentations and public programs. Interns experience the excitement and educational aspects of art production, gaining exposure to various practices and networking opportunities.
Ideal Candidate: We seek a student eager to gain practical experience in our program for 6 months, working 3 days a week. An internship fee is provided. All fields of study are welcome, including non-cultural backgrounds. Fluency in both English and Dutch is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruitment, selection, communication, scheduling, creating manuals, budgeting, organizing meetings, and supervising volunteers during exhibitions.
- Exhibition and Program Support: Tender requests, production planning, material and location research, guest list management, material and technique procurement.
- On-site Production Support: Artist and audience assistance, box office, ticketing, bar, catering, runner duties, pickups, etc.
- Transport Coordination: Managing art and material transport.
- Administrative Tasks: Meeting organization, minute-taking, office management, phone and email correspondence, office supply procurement, and managing the online shop.
Personal Development: The internship focuses on areas you wish to develop or explore. Involvement in all processes and task sharing is based on mutual agreement. Working hours depend on your availability and our program, which may include evenings and weekends.
