Manifesta 16 Ruhr is redefining the relationship between culture and society in Europe. By engaging contemporary culture with the social context of specific locations, it fosters positive social change. Since its inception in 1996, Manifesta has been hosted in various European cities biennially. The upcoming edition, Manifesta 16, is set to unfold in the Ruhr Area in 2026.
About the Organization
Manifesta 16 Ruhr gGmbH is a non-profit entity established to organize Manifesta 16. Its foundation stems from a collaboration between the Regional Association Ruhr and the International Foundation Manifesta. Based in Essen, Germany, this organization is a crucible for cultural innovation and social engagement.
Role Overview
The Production Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Production Team. Reporting to the Head of Production, this individual is integral in shaping the biennial’s artistic endeavors. The Coordinator’s responsibilities span from venue selection and design to collaboration with artists and ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and securing event venues
- Overseeing venue refurbishments and compliance with safety standards
- Facilitating collaborations with artists and exhibition partners
- Managing logistical and technical aspects of event production
- Supporting the Head of Production in team management and event execution
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical expertise and management skills, with a background in art, cultural production, or related fields. Proficiency in German and English, along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles, is essential.
