Job Description:
The Hong Kong Palace Museum invites applications for the position of Manager, Publishing and Editing. This role entails creating and maintaining editorial standards for both print and online publications. The successful candidate will manage the publication production process, oversee the budget, and handle the procurement of necessary services. This position also involves editing various public-facing materials, contributing to revenue through fundraising initiatives, and supervising staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee content development and ensure timely delivery of publications.
- Manage financial aspects of publication projects including budgets and profit/loss.
- Edit publications and other materials for public release.
- Supervise the Assistant Manager and Associate Editors.
- Collaborate with museum staff and external partners.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Manager.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Languages, Literature, Art History, History, Journalism, or related fields.
- Approximately 8 years of editing experience in art, design, and cultural publications.
- Experience working with museums or cultural organizations is preferred.
- Strong editing skills and knowledge of book design and imaging.
- Familiarity with publishing processes and distribution.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills in English and Chinese; Putonghua is an advantage.
