The Art Exchange: Moving Image Programme is a professional development and exhibition initiative for early to mid-career visual arts curators from South Asia working with the moving image. Supported by the British Council and organized by LUX and the Art South Asia Project (ASAP), this programme offers mentoring, networking, and exhibition opportunities.
Programme Details
Participants will receive:
- Mentoring from LUX and ASAP
- Professional development opportunities
- A fully-funded research trip to the UK in Autumn 2024
- Logistical and financial support for staging a final exhibition
- A curatorial fee
Eligibility
Curators from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka can apply. Requirements include:
- Commitment to monthly online workshops starting September 2024
- Travel to the UK for one week in Autumn 2024
- Work on an exhibition programme in their home country from late 2024
- Proven track record in visual arts curation
- Proficiency in English
Application Process
Applicants must complete an online application form, submit a CV/resume, a letter of support from a host venue, and a short curatorial proposal (max 2 pages).

Who Can Apply
Early to mid-career visual arts curators interested in the moving image. Priority is given to those who haven’t received British Council support in the last two years.
Definitions:
- Early Career: Relevant degree/experience, worked on artist commissions, contributed to exhibitions/public programmes.
- Mid-Career: Worked as a visual arts curator, led high-profile exhibitions, conducted research on British Council themes.

- Fluent in English
- Not for artists
