Overview The Whitworth is seeking an emerging curator passionate about visual arts. The role requires a willingness to learn, engage in various tasks, and develop a curatorial career.
Opportunity Details The Whitworth Curatorial Fellowship, supported by the Frieze x Deutsche Bank Emerging Curators Fellowship, is a paid, 18-month traineeship. It is open to UK nationals from a Global Majority background who have faced barriers to opportunities or representation. The fellowship aims to provide the experience needed to secure permanent employment in the arts sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the cataloguing, research, display, and programming of the ABC Wax Archive, the last surviving industrial design archive of a Manchester textile printing company.
- Gain curatorial experience by working with the Collections and Exhibitions Team on a diverse program of art, textiles, and wallpaper collections and exhibitions.
- Collaborate with various teams across the Whitworth for broader gallery activities.
