Phoenix Art Space is hiring a Curator for an exciting new role aimed at curators in the early to mid-stage of their careers. The Curator will support the Executive Director in the research, planning, and delivery of exhibitions and public programmes, focusing on contemporary art and interdisciplinary practices. Responsibilities include conceptualizing exhibitions, liaising with artists and curators, managing exhibition logistics and budgets, overseeing installations, and contributing to income generation. This role offers the opportunity to work on five major exhibitions annually, as well as a gallery residency programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop exhibitions in the Main Gallery.
- Manage exhibition logistics, including installation and de-rigging.
- Liaise with artists, technicians, and external curators.
- Oversee budgets, risk assessments, and equipment inventories.
- Represent Phoenix Art Space at public events and exhibition openings.
Qualifications:
- Experience in curating or supporting exhibitions.
- Strong interest in contemporary art and working with a diverse range of artists.
