The Holburne Museum seeks a Development Assistant to support its fundraising and development initiatives. This role focuses on administrative tasks, database management, and assisting with memberships, campaigns, and events. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain skills and experience across all areas of fundraising in an arts organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Memberships & Individual Giving:
- Manage the administration of membership schemes (Director’s Circle, Patrons, and Friends).
- Handle membership renewals, payment processing, and acknowledgment letters.
- Support membership publicity and e-newsletters.
- Data Management & CRM:
- Maintain donor records in compliance with financial audit and GDPR requirements.
- Extract and analyze data from the CRM system to support fundraising activities.
- Liaise with the CRM provider to optimize system functionality.
- Development Administration:
- Process donations and support Gift Aid claims in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Act as the primary contact for queries via phone and email.
- Collaborate with museum staff to enhance the impact of fundraising efforts.
- Events:
- Assist in organizing Development events, including private views, trips, and seasonal parties.
- Manage invitations, guest lists, and event promotion with the Communications team.
- Prepare briefing notes for staff and stakeholders.
- Income Generation:
- Conduct prospect research for potential funders.
- Support the Head of Development in creating fundraising bids and proposals.
- Assist with stewardship, reporting, and delivery of fundraising campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with CRM systems or ticketing programs is desirable.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Passion for the arts and culture sector, with a desire to develop fundraising experience.
- A positive, creative, and collaborative approach.
