The Curator of Exhibitions at Leeds Art Gallery will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality exhibition program, ensuring innovative and inclusive art exhibitions. The role includes managing exhibition schedules, collaborating with artists, managing project budgets, conducting research, and creating public programs that align with audience needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an exhibitions program.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure effective exhibition delivery.
- Manage exhibition projects from inception to completion, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Work with artists, galleries, and partners to execute exhibitions and programs.
- Coordinate educational and public events in conjunction with exhibitions.
- Monitor exhibition security, conservation, and insurance requirements.
- Develop partnerships with institutions and maintain key relationships.
- Ensure all exhibition-related materials, including publications, are timely and accessible.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Equality policies.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field such as art history or museum studies.
- Experience in exhibition planning, delivery, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of exhibition design, conservation, and security issues.
- Knowledge of access and inclusion issues for audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
- Experience with resource management and fundraising for exhibitions.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
