The Princeton Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts invites applications for its 2026–2029 postdoctoral fellowship competition. Open to early-career scholars across the humanities and social sciences, the program offers four potential fellowships: Open Fellowships (2–3), one in Humanistic Studies, and one in East Asian Studies. Appointed fellows become Associate Research Scholars in the Council of the Humanities and are expected to teach, pursue independent research, and participate in interdisciplinary activities.

Eligibility Criteria

PhD conferred after January 1, 2024 or substantial dissertation progress (minimum 50%) at time of application

Doctorate must be completed by June 15, 2026

PhDs in Education, Jurisprudence, or from Princeton University are ineligible
