Artelier, an international art consultancy and advisory company, is seeking a Project Archivist Assistant to help archive and catalogue an artist’s estate. The role is studio-based and involves close collaboration with another archivist and the Artelier team.
Responsibilities
- Record artworks into inventory software, including measurements, weights, and condition reports
- Handle, pack, and photograph artworks
- Conduct provenance, acquisition, and conservation research
- Manage and manipulate bulk data using Excel, Google Sheets, and inventory software
- Provide general office support and assist the Project Manager
- Maintain accurate records of conservation, maintenance, and acquisitions
Candidate Profile
- Degree (2:1 or higher) in Fine Art, History of Art, Museum Studies, or related field; other degrees considered with relevant justification
- Experience in archiving, cataloguing, and art handling
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, email applications, and inventory software
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a small team
- Bristol-based or able to commute
