The Royal Academy of Arts is seeking an Assistant Curator to join its Exhibitions Department on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract. The department oversees the RA’s internationally acclaimed exhibition programme, which spans artistic practices from antiquity to the present and involves collaborations with major institutions worldwide.
The Assistant Curator will contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of exhibitions, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a postgraduate qualification in Art History or equivalent experience. They should have strong research, communication, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a passion for art history. Prior experience with temporary exhibitions, museum or gallery collections, and documentation or cataloguing is preferred.
