Tate Modern seeks a Programme Manager for the Hyundai Tate Research Centre: Transnational, embedded within the Curatorial department. The role involves managing and producing research projects, exhibitions, displays, and acquisitions that expand Tate’s programme beyond Western Europe and North America. The Programme Manager works with internal teams across all Tate sites and a network of international partners to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of projects and events.
Responsibilities
- Manage research projects and provide organisational and production support to the Senior Curator
- Work with curatorial teams to deliver research and exhibition projects
- Develop schedules, monitor milestones, and ensure cost-effective project delivery
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, freelancers, and contractors
- Prepare project documentation, reports to funders and sponsors, and maintain project plans
- Oversee website content in coordination with Digital and Research departments
- Plan and deliver seminars, conferences, live performances, and other events, liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with equality, diversity, and inclusion practices in all aspects of work
- Participate in recruitment and advocacy activities as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing projects and events in research, museum, or cultural institutions
- Experience with budget management and financial reporting
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently with initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with databases and Windows-based applications
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within a team
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
