The Perimeter, a non-profit exhibition space for contemporary art, is seeking a part-time Registrar to oversee the management of a private art collection and support logistics for its exhibition programme. The role involves ensuring that artworks are properly documented, transported, insured, and cared for according to museum standards, working closely with the Director.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience as a registrar in a museum, gallery, or fine art shipping organisation
- Expertise in coordinating shipping, preparing loan agreements, managing insurance, and handling transport schedules
- Proficiency in condition reporting and museum-standard art handling
- Familiarity with collection management systems (Artlogic) and Excel
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and the Government Indemnity Scheme
- Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a positive, solution-driven attitude
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage shipments and transport for the private collection and The Perimeter’s exhibitions
- Liaise with shippers, galleries, storage providers, and institutions
- Maintain and update collection records and databases (Artlogic, Excel)
- Oversee insurance updates and renewals, including temporary coverage for exhibitions
- Prepare documentation for loans, shipments, and condition reports
- Manage loan processes for outgoing and incoming artworks
