For the third consecutive year, Nine Elephants – a festival for artistic and interdisciplinary practices in urban environment – invites artists, curators, researchers, urbanists, and practitioners to submit project proposals for the upcoming edition of the festival, which will take place from 9 to 19 July 2026 in Sofia and its periphery.
In 2026, the festival turns its focus to the city as a living, changing body — ecological, emotional, remembering, and collective. We are looking for projects that engage with themes such as circulation and metabolism, collectivity, memory, care, solidarity, disinformation, urban storytelling, and wild urbanism.
Formats:
walks, performances, sound / text-based / spatial interventions, film / video, situational practices, temporary art installations, workshops, research-based and multidisciplinary projects.
Deadline: 9 February 2026.
