The ASSEMBLE Curatorial Fellowship is an international programme supporting artists, curators, and cultural practitioners with lived experience of forced migration or displacement. Funded by the European Union and developed through a cross-border partnership, the fellowship explores the climate emergency in relation to conflict, displacement, and ecological crisis.
Three fellows—based in Cyprus, Spain (Basque Country), and Ukraine—will each develop a new curatorial project while participating in a shared international programme of research, exchange, and public engagement.

Duration: 12 months (June 2026 – June 2027)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver an original curatorial project responding to climate emergency and displacement

Collaborate with local partner organisations in your country

Participate in international curatorial labs (Cyprus, Spain, hybrid Ukraine)

Attend a 10-day group residency in Newcastle (UK)

Join the On the Move Cultural Mobility Forum in Morocco

Contribute to a digital exhibition launching in June 2027

Engage in ongoing research, collaboration, and knowledge exchange
Eligibility Criteria

Artists, curators, or cultural practitioners

Lived experience of forced migration or displacement

Based and legally residing in Cyprus, the Basque Country (Spain), or Ukraine

Demonstrated professional practice and previous project experience

Ability to travel internationally (programme conducted in English)
