Newcastle University is seeking a Lecturer in Art History to contribute to teaching, development, and administration across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Fine Art and Art History. This role includes leading modules, supervising dissertations, and supporting students within a collaborative academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Histories of Photography module (undergraduate)
- Contribute to BA and MA teaching (including CAHAC programme)
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations
- Participate in team-taught modules
- Provide personal tutoring and student support
- Contribute to programme administration
Eligibility Criteria
- PhD in Art History or related field
- Experience teaching Art History at higher education level
- Broad knowledge of modern and contemporary art history
- Expertise in one or more of the following:
- Histories of photography and lens-based media
- Global art histories and visual culture
- Decolonial approaches to art history
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
