The Head of Programme is a senior leadership role focused on developing and delivering ODAC’s strategic programme work at the intersection of socially engaged arts practice and community action. It combines senior producing, strategic development, and operational oversight across complex community-facing programmes.
Working closely with the Creative Director & Chief Executive, the role supports fundraising, partnership development, impact evaluation, and the long-term coherence of ODAC’s programme strands.
About the Role
The Head of Programme will lead the delivery and development of complex, community-facing artistic programmes, ensuring alignment with ODAC’s strategic objectives.
The role sits at the intersection of production, strategy, and community engagement, requiring close collaboration with artists, local authorities, funders, and community stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate complex community-facing arts programmes
- Oversee budgets, financial planning, and reporting
- Develop fundraising strategies and support income generation
- Build cross-sector partnerships (arts, local authorities, regeneration, social services)
- Ensure strategic coherence across programme strands
- Lead impact measurement, evaluation, and learning frameworks
- Contribute to safeguarding and ethical delivery
- Support implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience in participatory or socially engaged arts practice
- Strong track record in producing, fundraising, and project development
- Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder environments
- Ability to work across community, institutional, and policy contexts
- Calm, confident leadership under pressure
- Strong organisational and strategic thinking skills
