2026–2027 Residency Programme at the Fondation d’entreprise Martell

Location: Fondation d’entreprise Martell, Cognac, France
Residency period: 2026–2027
Duration: 2–8 weeks, depending on the residency format
Weekly fellowship: €375, including living expenses and work stipend
Production budget: Up to €2,500
Travel funding: Up to €500 within France or €1,500 for European and international travel
Accommodation: Private room in shared accommodation provided
Eligibility: Designers, artists, architects, curators, writers, critics, and researchers of all nationalities and career stages

The Fondation d’entreprise Martell is inviting applications for its 2026–2027 residency programme. The programme supports interdisciplinary creative and research projects addressing major contemporary challenges, including ecological and social transitions, changing landscapes and environments, and interspecies relations.

Applications from individuals and collectives are welcome.

Residency formats

Research and experimentation: 6–8 weeks
For projects in the conception, research, experimentation, or prototyping stages.

Production: 2–6 weeks
For practitioners seeking to produce new work using the Foundation’s facilities and technical resources.

Writing and curatorship: 2–4 weeks during the summer
For writers, curators, critics, and researchers undertaking literary, artistic, critical, or theoretical writing projects.

Research, experimentation, and production residencies may be divided across two stays.

Support

Selected residents receive:

For production-support residencies developed with a partner institution, the partner is responsible for the €200 weekly work stipend.

Selection

Projects will be assessed according to their originality, engagement with contemporary challenges, relationship to a specific geographic context, feasibility, and the applicant’s previous experience.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview with the Foundation’s Director following the selection committee meeting in September 2026.
