About the internship
Dirwaza’s Curatorial Programming Internship places interns at the centre of an active curatorial practice. Working alongside the organisation’s team, interns will assist with exhibition research, archiving and writing, as well as supporting the planning, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions.
The internship is designed to develop key skills in art-historical research, curating, project management and public engagement. Interns will also participate in community outreach and contribute to educational programming across different projects, gaining experience across the full scope of Dirwaza’s work rather than being assigned to a single project.
The program is intended primarily for recent graduates and early-career individuals who want to explore working in a curatorial environment and learn more about exhibition-making and public programming. It also offers opportunities to connect with professionals in the field and gain insight into potential career paths within the arts and culture sector.
Eligibility
The program is open to applicants of all nationalities. Although all applications are welcome, priority will be given to candidates who can fully commit to the required working hours.
Applicants do not need previous curatorial experience but should demonstrate a strong interest in art and curatorial practice. The program is designed for recent graduates and early-career applicants with limited experience in the curatorial field.
Applicants living outside Abu Dhabi or the UAE may apply. However, successful candidates must independently arrange any necessary visas, travel and accommodation, and must be able to attend the Abu Dhabi office from Monday to Thursday.
The internship cannot be completed entirely remotely or on a part-time schedule.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted through the online application form by 24 August 2026.
