La Friche la Belle de Mai (Marseille, France) is recruiting a European Project Manager. The European project manager supports the cooperation project manager in the identification or project implementation phases. They is in charge of the general coordination of the large-scale Creative Europe project “FutureDivercities” and, if necessary, of other European projects carried out by the Friche la Belle de Mai.
The Friche la Belle de Mai, which has been operating since 1992 on 45,000 m2 of a former tobacco factory, is a place of life, freedom and thought, of artistic, cultural, social and educational production; the Friche is a place of experimentation. The Friche is a place of experimentation. It is home to 70 resident structures that carry out a collective project and offer – along with non-resident guest structures – a programme of events and cultural and social activities. A cooperative society of collective interest, SCIC Friche la Belle de Mai, created in 2007, pilots and coordinates the development, land management and cultural activities on the site.
The cooperative society in charge of the Friche is committed to and participates in programmes financed by the European Union. In this perspective, it shares the experiences of the Friche, opens spaces for experimentation and cooperation by promoting innovative initiatives based on the common concerns of the cooperative society, the residents of the Friche and their partners: cultural rights and democratic practices, youth, inclusion, employment and entrepreneurship, ecological transition, digital transition.
The SCIC Friche la Belle de Mai is the lead partner of the Europe Creative project “Future DiverCities” obtained this year. This project, in partnership with 12 European partners, aims to re-imagine the development dynamics of vacant urban spaces by creating participatory spaces. The Friche la Belle de Mai, along with 8 other partners, has the mission to create and animate local coalitions to give back an ecological value to these spaces by facilitating the cooperation between inhabitants, artists, local associative partners and public policies. The SCIC Friche la Belle de Mai also has the mission to lead research works in collaboration with multidisciplinary researchers and to share this knowledge and tools at the local and European level.
Candidate profile:
- Languages: French, English (C1 level), a third language will be valued
- Higher education
- Mastery of office automation tools (Pack Office), various collaborative digital tools (Miro, Klaxoon, Trello, document sharing software, etc.)
- Knowledge of the European Union institutions and the functioning of European programmes
- Experience in management and engineering of European projects
- Experience in managing and leading a multicultural partnership
- Knowledge of and interest in the cultural sector and/or the social and solidarity economy
- Managing priorities, stepping back and being diplomatic
