Your tasks
We expect the professorship, which is based in the Department of Arts, Media, Philosophy, to participate in the BA and MA courses in art history, in the course of studies in art history and image theory, in the eikones doctoral program and in the interdisciplinary network of studies in the early modern period at the University of Basel. Willingness to engage in teaching, participation in national and international research projects, the acquisition of third-party funds and participation in university self-administration are expected.
Your profile
We are looking for a personality who represents the field of early modern art history in teaching and research from the 15th to the 18th century both in historical depth and in the breadth of artistic genres and media. Teaching and research should include at least two different focal points within early modern European art history and open up new perspectives on the fundamental aesthetic, religious, epistemological and economic changes in the arts in the early modern period.
Applicants have distinguished themselves through excellent publications and international research activities after their doctorate.
