Ausstellungsraum Klingental invites artists, curators, and collectives to apply with proposals for the 2026–2027 season. Projects should demonstrate a relevant connection to the local art scene, whether through the participants’ place of residence, thematic focus, or offering a new perspective on the Basel region.
The board selects projects and offers voluntary support for their realization. The programme combines regional and international contemporary art, with around six large and four small projects each season, alongside other events.
Venue
Located in the ground floor of the Klingental church, in the Kasernenareal, the space is barrier-free and includes two separate exhibition rooms and a large foyer. Projects can use one or both rooms. The association provides:
- Venue and technical equipment
- Public relations and project supervision
- Contribution to project costs and artists’ fees (CHF 2,000–5,000)
Submission Requirements
- Short project description (max. 700 characters)
- Statement on relation to Basel region (max. 700 characters)
- Project proposal (max. 1 A4 page)
- Project-related visuals (max. 5 A4 pages)
- Short biographies of initiators/participants (max. 1 A4 page)
- Preliminary budget and financing plan (max. 1 A4 page)
- Preferred/possible time slots (Aug 2026–Jun 2027)
